Tips for faster percentages
Includes multiple modes: P% of N, find the percent, and find the total.
- Use 10% as a base: 10% = divide by 10, 5% = half of 10%.
- For 1%: divide by 100, then scale up.
- For find percent: percent = (part ÷ whole) × 100.
- For find total: total = part ÷ (percent/100).
- Common mistake: moving the decimal the wrong direction.
- Common mistake: confusing part vs whole in word-style percent questions.
- Prefer clean numbers first (multiples of 10) then increase difficulty.
- Try mixed-mode practice once each mode is comfortable.
